Rectangular military belt buckle with end knobs type Oberstimm. The buckle is based on an original find from Rottweil, Germany, the ancient city of Arae Flaviae (pic. 2). The shape remembers the buckle of the noric-pannonian women´s dress, but the the buckles seem to be developed separately. Despite some single earlier types, this sort of buckle emerges in the Flavian Age. It was in use during the late 1st and early 2nd century AD. Some other specimens are decorated with ingravings, which is easy to be realized afterwards (pic. 3). The buckles were widespread from Britain to the provinces at the Rhine and the Upper Danube.

Handcrafted from massive high quality 925 silver. 4 rivet pins at the backside, delivery with washers ready for assembling. Leather not included. Length of the buckle ca. 90 mm, suitable for a belt width of 23 - 25 mm.
