The Knights Templar were organized as a monastic order.  It was founded in the early 12th century AD to protect the pilgrims on their way to the Holy Land. In the early 14th century, King Philipp IV of France and Pope Clement V. decided to destruct the wealthy and influencial Order of the Temple and startet the persecution of the Templar Knights.

The origin of the seal motif is unknown. The depiction of two knights on a horse can be seen as a symbol of brotherhood, but the political opponents recognized homosexual tendencies. But it could be also a sign for the double task as knight and as monk as well.

We modelled the seal basing on original finds and handcrafted the pendant from high quality 925 silver. Delivered with leather thong and certificate, diameter 32mm without eyelet.
