Pendant depicting the god Priapus (or Mutinus Mutunus). Priapus was the son of the goddes of love Venus (greek Aphrodite) and the wine-god Bacchus (greek Dionysos) who spent his youth in company with Pan and the Satyrs. He was worshiped as god of the gardens and of agricultural fertility, he was the patron of the farmers, fishermen and sailors. His picture (or simple his phallus) avoided jealousy and resentment, at marriage celebrations he was asked for luck and a large number of children.
Handcrafted from real bronze, delivery with leather thong. Size 38 mm.
