Celtic Warrior Manching

An extraordinary piece of jewellery with a real history: this pendant in the shape of a Celtic warrior is inspired by a spectacular archaeological find from the oppidum of Manching (Bavaria). The original find was only discovered in the summer of 2025 and is considered one of the most significant new discoveries in recent Celtic archaeology. The figure shows a Celtic warrior in a lunge, armed with a shield and sword – a proud symbol of early Celtic metalwork and fighting power.

Our pendant is handmade from genuine bronze. To make it comfortable to wear, the design has been moderately reduced in size and slightly simplified – it is therefore not an exact copy, but a careful, high-quality interpretation of the original that preserves the expression and posture of the warrior. It comes with a leather cord and certificate.

The oppidum of Manching

Manching was one of the largest oppida north of the Alps in the late Iron Age.

An oppidum was a fortified large settlement or city of the Celts – political, craft and economic centres of their time. At its peak (around 150–100 BC), Manching was home to an estimated 10,000 people.

Between 2021 and 2024, over 6,800 m² of the oppidum were examined as part of construction work. More than 40,000 finds came to light, including ceramics, metalwork, animal bones and, for the first time, clear evidence of fish consumption and local iron processing.

The highlight, however, was the filigree bronze statuette of a Celtic warrior, which impressively demonstrates the high level of craftsmanship of Celtic metalworkers and raises new questions about the religious, everyday or symbolic meanings of such figurines.
