This pendant is a detailed, handcrafted replica of a Bronze Age original from the North Caucasus. Each piece is created in our own workshop using traditional casting techniques and is individually finished by hand, giving each pendant its own unique, vibrant character.

Horses played a central role in the Bronze and early Iron Ages – as draft animals, status symbols and mythological creatures. In the Caucasus in particular, they were closely associated with sun worship and represented movement, power and the cycle of life.

The circular "wheels" on the hooves can be understood as a symbol of the sun's course or the idea of eternal motion – a motif that appears in many cultures of this period.

The motif is reminiscent of the famous Trojan horse, which was passed down in the 8th century BC in the Greek epic poem about the Trojan War. According to the Greeks' ruse, a wooden horse was used as a deception, inside which warriors hid, thus enabling the fall of Troy.

One of the oldest depictions of this myth can be found on the Mykonos vase (c. 670 BC), where the horse is also depicted with round elements – a striking parallel to the wheel-like shapes of this pendant.

Since its domestication around 2200 BC in the North Caucasus, the horse spread westward and became a symbol of power, war and divine order in the Mediterranean region. In myth and reality, it combined mobility with strategic and cultural significance – as in the Trojan epic.
