This cast of a typical Byzantine cross from the 10th to 12th century measures about 40 x 25 mm. The original was made available to us for processing from a private collection.
The pendant is solidly worked and bears a simple portrait of the crucified Nazarene with a halo. The back bears a Greek inscription, the translation of which reads: "Lord, help the one who carries me".
Imported pieces of similar design are found widely as far away as Scandinavia.
Handcrafted from solid 925 silver, supplied with leather thong.
