Button-And-Loop Suspensions (Pair), Bronze
Button-and-loop suspensions (pair), for fastening and suspending a sword or dagger (gladius or pugio) on a Roman military belt (cingulum).
Button-and-Loop Suspensions
The eyelet buttons were used to hang swords and daggers. The replicas are based on Inv. No. V90.4/247.7 from Windisch-Königsfelden (Vindonissa). The original was found in a pit together with a gladius with a sword scabbard decorated in relief. The replicas are sturdily made to withstand heavy use.
