Glauberg-Brooch small, Bronze
In the hills of the Vogelsberg in Hessen/Germany an early celtic settlement of the 5th century B.C. was found, with large fortifications of stone and bricks. At the bottom of the hill, archeologists found some rich burials of celtic chieftains, containing some marvelous gifts of gold and bronze, weapons and more. In Burial No. 1 this brooch was found in the near of a neckring (torques) of gold. Our copy is a little bit smaller than the original and about 60mm long, 33mm wide and 25mm high. The axis of the spring pin is decorated with beads made of of red coral.
