With the Lararium kit, you can create an impressive Roman household altar in the style of ancient models. In everyday Roman life, the lararium was the place of domestic worship: here, people honoured the Lares and Penates, the guardian gods of the home and family. In the form of a small temple called an aedicula, they formed the cultic centre of the home.

This detailed kit allows you to recreate such a temple in miniature format and furnish it with ancient god figures, sacrificial vessels and decorative elements. Whether as a stylish display for your replicas, a historical decorative object or a creative craft project, the finished house altar is guaranteed to be an eye-catcher.

The precisely laser-cut components made of sturdy 5 mm plywood are easy to assemble and provide a solid foundation for individual design. Thanks to its generous dimensions, the model is also suitable for the largest deity figures in my range.

The design for the kit was created in my studio based on ancient depictions and archaeological finds. The components are manufactured in a certified specialist workshop in Austria, ensuring a high degree of accuracy and clean cut edges.

The natural wood provides the perfect basis for individual design. For example, you can:

• painted in the style of antique wall paintings

• decorate using decoupage or transfers

• cover with printed fresco motifs

• equip with small altars, incense burners or offerings

For a particularly high-quality finish, we recommend treating the wood with a pore filler/quick-drying primer before painting. Any joints can be filled and sanded down.

If elaborate interior painting is planned, this should be done before final assembly, as the interior will be difficult to access later on.
