Late Roman Propeller Mount 2, Bronze

Late Roman propeller mount with beaded decoration for a military belt. The propeller mount is matching the late Roman animal head buckle based on a find from the Axel Guttmann collection. The original from the late 4th to 5th centuries was sold at the Hermann Historica auction house in 2008 after the Axel Guttmann collection was dissolved. The origin of the piece is unknown. The propeller mount with beaded decoration corresponds to the original set, but the decorations have been worked out with a little more care and detail.
Rivet pins are attached to the back for assembling, a bronze sheet for easy riveting is also included. Size 46 x 25 mm, suitable for belt widths from 45 mm, but 50 mm is best.
