Celtic Torc (Torques) Nidderau, Bronze
Reproduction of a Celtic neck ring (Torc or Torques) based on a find from Nidderau-Heldenbergen.
Celtic Neck Ring (torques) Nidderau
Based on the original find, our reproduction of the Torc or Torques with its multiple profiled, typical Latène buffer-shaped ends was created.
To make the torques usable, the ring is made of drawn bronze wire. This makes the Torc very flexible and easy to put on and off. Available in different sizes. An individual circumference is possible without extra charge.
Celtic Neck Ring (torques) from Nidderau - the find
When the excavation pit for a residential building was dug in the summer of 1973, the owner of the land discovered the remains of an Early Latène body grave. The burial of a woman covered an area of about 2.70 x 0.90 m and contained a large number of grave goods. Among them were the remains of a bronze and an iron brooch, pottery, arm and leg rings, and a torques (necklace) with rich enamel decorations. The finds are now on display in the archives of the Society for Prehistory and Early History in Nidderau-Heldenbergen. ( http://www.vvfn.de )
