Theese brooches belong to the women´s dress of germanic peoples at the river Elbe in northern Germany, but they are also found at military locations at the Limes. Late 1st - mid 2nd century AD.
Fibula Type Almgren 101
The fibulae of this type developed from germanic trumpet brooches. They were popular among the germanic peoples at the river Elbe in northern Germany, where they were only used by women. But many specimens were also found in military locations at the Limes. The earliest finds date to the flavian-trajanic period in the late 1st century, they were popular until the mid of the 2nd century AD.
