Decorative Pendant Zugmantel, Bronze
This special jewellery pendant is based on an original find from the Saalburg Museum's collection. The historical model is an old find from the Roman Limes fort Zugmantel and was probably used as the end piece of a strap fitting – possibly a sword belt.
The original was crafted using the so-called Opus interrasile technique, an elaborate openwork technique that became very popular in the Roman Empire from the middle of the 2nd century onwards. This filigree design gives the piece its characteristic lightness and, at the same time, its extraordinary ornamentation.
The replica is carefully handcrafted from genuine, solid bronze and precisely reproduces all the details of the original find. The combination of authentic form, traditional techniques and high-quality materials makes this pendant a fascinating piece of jewellery for lovers of antiquity, re-enactors and collectors of historically inspired accessories.
An impressive piece of Roman cultural history – artfully recreated.
