A large number of this kind of rings survived in many museums and medieval collections. It is a very typical shape of the Late Middle Ages.
The ring is decorated with grapevine branches, most probably as a christian motif. The so-called iconographic rings of England are discussed by some scholars as engagement or marriage rings, but also a use as gifts for the beginning of a new year is likely. The original was placed to our disposal by a private collection.
Handcrafted from real Bronze.
