God of war Mars as an amulet pendant

This unique pendant combines craftsmanship with historical symbolism. The piece of jewellery shows the sculpted portrait of the Roman god of war Mars, elaborated in great detail in the form of a miniaturised phalera. Phaleras were round ornamental discs that were awarded as military decorations (dona militaria) in ancient Rome. They symbolised courage, honour and bravery - values that Mars also embodied.

Handmade in our own workshop
Each pendant is unique and lovingly crafted by hand from solid 925 silver. Inspired by Roman motifs, this piece of jewellery carries the soul of ancient craftsmanship. The sculptural depiction of the portrait of Mars lends the pendant an impressive depth and vibrancy that captivates every observer.

The motif: Mars, the Roman god of war
Mars was one of the most important gods in Roman mythology. Originally an agricultural god who stood for fertility and protection of the harvest, he developed into the god of war and a symbol of military strength and strategic superiority. Mars was therefore also a patron saint of the city and the Roman people.

In contrast to the Greek god Ares, who was often portrayed as impulsive and brutal, Mars also embodied discipline, honour and the defence of the homeland for the Romans. While Ares was often regarded as an unpredictable fighter in Greek mythology, Mars was worshipped as a just and strategic warrior who led the Roman legions to victory.

A mythological anecdote: Mars and the founding of Rome
One of the best-known stories about Mars is his connection to the founding of Rome. According to legend, Mars was the father of Romulus and Remus, the twins who were raised by a she-wolf. Romulus later founded the city of Rome and became its first king. This story emphasises the deep connection between Mars and the Roman people. He was not only a god of war, but also a symbol of strength and the origin of Roman civilisation.

Symbolism and meaning
The pendant with the portrait of Mars is more than just a piece of jewellery - it is a symbol of strength, courage and the ability to overcome challenges. It is a reminder of the values of antiquity and the importance of honour and discipline. At the same time, it is a statement of love for history and craftsmanship.
