Roman Coin Pedant, Denarius Augustus
Copy of a roman silver coin (denarius), minted by emperor Augustus between 2 BC and 1 AD in Lyon, used to pay the soldiers until 13/14 AD. At the backside, Gaius and Lucius Ceasar are depicted, the grandchildren of Augustus, planned to become the sucessors on rome´s throne. Both died early, and they soon vansihed in the mists of history.
Handcrafted from massive 925 sterling silver, with eyelet and leather thong.
