Copy of a Roman silver coin (denarius) with the portrait of Emperor Hadrian (Imperator Caesar Traianus Hadrianus Augustus), who reigned between 117 and 138 AD. The obverse shows the inscription "Augustus Hadrianus", the reverse of the coin depicts the genius of the Roman people with sacrificial bowl and cornucopia (RIC 173). The inscription COS III means that the coin was struck when Hadrian was in his third term as consul. Coins of this type date between 128 and 128 AD.
