Roman Belt Fittings Type Oberstimm

Rectangular roman buckle of a military belt with end buttons of the Oberstimm type. The replica is based on an original from Rottweil, the ancient Arae Flaviae. Visually, the buckle is reminiscent of a belt of the Noric-Pannonian women's costume, but typologically, military belt buckles seem to have developed independently. Apart from some older predecessor models, the focus of distribution lies in the Flavian to Hadrianic period (late 1st to early 2nd century). Comparative finds show metal fittings with punched patterns, which can also easily be done later. The distribution of these buckles is mainly limited to Great Britain and the areas along the Rhine and upper Danube.

The Oberstimm type Roman belt fittings are handmade for you from real bronze. On the back of the plate 4 rivet pins are cast on for fastening. The delivery is ready for assembly with counter washers, without leather.

The length of the Oberstimm type buckle is approx. 90 mm, the recommended strap width is approx. 23 to 25mm.
