Juno Statue, Bronze

Our statuette of Juno is a free reworking inspired by various representations, marble statues and bronze figures and reproduces them in an idealised form. Special attention was paid to a bronze statue from the treasure find of Weißenburg.

As wife and sister of Jupiter, Juno was the supreme of all goddesses. She was the protector of marriage, family and birth and therefore had a special relationship with women. Together with Jupiter and Minerva, Juno was worshipped as the "Capitoline Triad" in a special temple, the Capitolium.

Statuette of Juno / Hera

Small bronze figures like this one were used for cult rites, mostly in private domestic altars (lararia). The quality of the figures varied greatly and could range from simple, somewhat awkward-looking figures to high-quality and natural-looking works. High-quality figures were sometimes made of precious silver, while simple pieces were made of clay.

Our statuette of Juno is a free reworking, which is based on different representations, marble statues and bronze figures and reproduces them in an idealised form. Special attention was paid to a bronze statue from the treasure find of Weißenburg. This Roman treasure was discovered in a garden complex and is presumably the inventory of a temple due to its composition of several statues and other religious objects. Presumably, the valuable finds were buried during a Germanic raid around 233 AD.

Each Juno / Hera statuette is cast individually using the lost wax casting process and handcrafted, therefore small differences may occur from figure to figure.
As each Statue is individually produced, the delivery time is usually 2 to 3 weeks. The height of the Juno bronze statue with base (without staff) is about 15 cm.

The roman goddess Juno

As wife and sister of Jupiter, Juno was the supreme of all goddesses. She was the protector of marriage, family and birth and therefore had a special relation to women.

Together with Jupiter and Minerva, Juno was worshipped as the "Capitoline Triad" in a special temple, the Capitolium. She is thus one of the most important deities of the Romans.
