Celtic Brooch with red enamel, Bronze
Celtic fibula of the Latène period B (380-280 BC), with red enamel inlay.
Celtic brooches of this type develop from early forms with "bird head" decorations. The original of this piece was made available to us for reconstruction by a private collection. This beautiful fibula of the early Celts was constructed in one piece, i.e. the spiral of the needle emerged directly from the bracket of the fibula. The "foot" of the fibula has a small indentation, which was filled with a red glass inlay, the blood enamel, popular with the Celts. Length 43 mm.
