Small Alamannic crossbow brooch of the late 3rd / 4th century. After the fall of the roman limes border, germanic tribes from northern germany migrated to the Southwest, creating a new people being called "Alamanni" in roman literature. This means "all man" and seems to be an indication for the origin of this people.
Made of solid silver with an authentic spring pin construction made of stable alpaca silver.
Based on an original in a private collection.
