Roman Wolf Head Brooch
This Roman hinged brooch is based on an original piece from Pannonia. It is quite difficult to date it without comparative finds, but due to the construction details it is likely to have been made in the late 1st or 2nd century. On the bow there is a stylised animal head with pointed ears, which gave the brooch its name. The brooch is handcrafted from real bronze. For reasons of functionality and resilience, we fit an iron pin. A forged bronze pin is also available on request and for an additional charge. Length 55 mm.
