Roman Eagle Pendant Jupiter

This beautiful, detailed and carefully crafted pendant is inspired by an original decorative baldric attachment. With Jupiter, the greatest and best of all gods, and his eagle as a symbol, the owner should receive appropriate support. The pendant with the eagle motif is made of genuine, solid bronze and was reduced by me to a size of about 28mm. The awesome pendant will be delivered with a leather cord, a gift box and a certificate.

Roman Eagle Pendant

The scaled-down pendant is inspired by a military sword belt fitting, a baldric phalera from the 2nd to 3rd century AD. This variant of the baldric roundel were very common and can be found in different qualities from Britain up to Syria. The inscription reads "MAXIME OPTIME CON(serva)". A complete set also consisted of three decorative fittings with the complete inscription "OPTIME MAXIME CON (serva) NUMERUM OMNIUM MILITANTIUM". The translation reads accordingly: "Optimus Maximus, protect the whole unit".
