UTERE FELIX Belt Set, Bronze
Utere Felix (or Felix Vtere) literally means "Use it happily" or "Use it as a lucky one" and is found on many objects of the younger imperial period.
Among the few complete Utere Felix belts is a find ensemble from Varaždinske Toplice, the ancient Aquae Iasae, in Croatia, which served as a model for my replica.

The Roman belt slogan "Utere Felix" is a sign of the ancient Roman belief that wearing a belt correctly would bring luck and prosperity. The belt was not only a functional accessory, but a symbol of power, status and authority, and it was believed that the way it was worn had a significant influence on one's luck and future. This belief is just one example of the complex and fascinating culture of ancient Rome and is a reminder of the lasting legacy of this remarkable civilization.
Utere Felix (or Felix Vtere) literally means "Use it happily" or "Use it as a happy one" and is found on many objects from the recent imperial period. Sword fittings, finger rings, goblets and many other objects are adorned with these words in this period.
Among the rare complete Utere Felix belts is a set of pieces from Varaždinske Toplice, the ancient Aquae Iasae in Croatia. The fittings belong to the Lyon type after the discovery of a very similar set.
The letter "R", which was missing from the fittings, was added with the help of a comparative find from Eining. The original find is currently on display in the Zagreb Museum and dates from the late 2nd to early 3rd century.
